Summer time is one of the most fruitful times to create new stained glass creations in the workshop. The big barn door is open most days letting in light and warmth. The swallows have nested in the room next door have on numerous occasions thought my workshop is their home. They fly into the space then circle once or twice before making for the door and swooping out.
The Bradford on Avon sculpture garden was a real success this year with three times as many people walking around this wonderful unique garden to buy sculptures and stained glass from artists of the region. The artists can be located around the garden on different days. You might also have met our local poet Dawn Gorman writing on the spot poetry about the works of art. This is what she wrote when viewing my stained glass:
From Silence, colour vibrates,
revealing form, offering the word
you are looking for.
The kindness in your eyes
is as blue as lavender.
Petals cradle a small, perfect soul.
After having a lot of demand for copper foil workshops, I will be running one this Autumn/Winter session, look at my courses page for more details or feel free to call me. I am also taking deposits for the traditional glass painting course, make a panel in stained glass and also a new course showing how to make a bowl, learning about the techniques of fused glass and frit.
So, plenty to do in the darker days of winter colourful creations to light up your life! I will be having an end of season SALE where you can pick up some beautiful little gems for a great price to give as a gift or adorn your own home. This is for one day only 12th September 2015 10am – 4pm at my workshop at Woolley grange farm.
