February is the month before the ground starts slowly warming up here in England. Already the bulbs are pushing their little heads through the dark and lumpy soil. It never ceases to amaze me how such small and fragile forms of curly life push through with tireless efforts to reach upward towards the light. I have just finished a panel for a front door with a blue tit and a great tit in a silver birch tree. It will be installed at the beginning of March which is when many of the birds will have begun their nesting and gathering. My sketch books are filling already with leaf formations, small plants, sky and clouds, colour and light.
I am very Happy to say I have won an Award, the CPD (continuing professional development) with the Worshipful Company of Glaziers. This wonderful Award will allow me to be tutored by the Stained Glass Artist of great achievements Andrew Taylor. I am looking forward very much to learning and being submerged in the wonderful world of glass and traditional glass painting. I will give more information about my journey and post photographs of what I am doing for those who are interested.
My students are doing fabulous individual projects and finding their own personal achievements a reward which I know will allow them to open up to new ideas and skills. If you would like to take a course please check the courses page or telephone me on my mobile number to arrange a visit. All ages and abilities are welcome !
